Commitment:

Enable an equal playing field for women by addressing their disproportionate care responsibility.

KPI:

  • Establish policy, infrastructure and systems covering both child and elder care to empower our workforce.

What this commitment means

MAS is committed to enabling an equal playing field for women by addressing the disproportionate care responsibilities they continue to carry. Caregiving responsibilities, especially related to children and elders, can shape how women enter, remain in, and progress through the workforce.

Why this matters

Unpaid care work remains a major structural barrier to women’s economic participation and advancement. It can restrict career mobility, reduce access to leadership opportunities, and affect long-term financial independence and wellbeing. For MAS, addressing this is essential to building a more inclusive and high-performing organisation. It supports stronger retention, deeper workforce engagement, and greater representation of women across all levels of the business. Just as importantly, it reflects the kind of workplace we want to create: one that recognises the realities people navigate beyond work and responds in ways that enable them to thrive.

How we will make it happen

MAS will advance this commitment by strengthening the policies, infrastructure and support systems employees need to manage both childcare and elder care responsibilities. This will include a more integrated approach to care support across the organisation, shaped by employee needs and local context. Through clearer governance, more consistent frameworks and the right partnerships, we aim to build a workplace where caregiving responsibilities are recognised and supported, so employees can participate, grow and succeed with greater confidence.
