GAIL KLINTWORTH

Gail currently serves as a Non-Executive Director, Trustee and Advisor to a select group of businesses and NGOs who are well placed to contribute to creating a “better flywheel for good growth”. She serves as a Non-Executive Director of Tiger Brands, one of the largest consumer foods businesses in Africa, headquartered in South Africa; the Chair of Globescan Inc., a global insight and strategy firm that builds trusted leadership to create a better future, headquartered in Canada; the Chair of the Shell Foundation, an NGO that scales sustainable energy and mobility solutions for low-income consumers in Africa and Asia and Chair of Integrity Action, an NGO that empowers citizens to demand integrity from the institutions they rely on, working in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Previously, Gail served as the Business and Transformation Director for the Business and Sustainable Development Commission, making the 12 trillion$ case for the business benefit associated with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. Before that, she was an Executive Director with Old Mutual PLC, a diversified financial services company, leading their global customer, brand digital and responsible business portfolio. Under Gail’s leadership, Old Mutual developed its Positive Futures Plan, which promotes inclusive growth and responsible investment.
Earlier, over 28 years, Gail worked for Unilever PLC, most recently as Global Chief Sustainability Officer and led the Global Savory business, Global Laundry Brands and was CEO of Unilever South Africa.
Gail graduated from Cambridge University with a master's in Sustainability Leadership and completed her bachelor's in Industrial Psychology and Languages, from the University of the Witwatersrand and Rhodes University. She completed the FT Non-Executive Director Level 7 Advanced Professional Diploma in 2017.
