SCIENCE BASED TARGETS INITIATIVES (SBTi)

MAS joins over 1,800 companies across the world who have made the commitment to SBTi. Signing the “Business ambition for 1.5°C”, MAS pledged to support the global movement to limit global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit temperature​ increase to 1.5°C. In line with this, we have committed to reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 25.2% by 2025, from a 2019 base year. We have also committed that 85% of our suppliers by spend and 100% of joint ventures in scope 3 investments will have science-based targets by 2025.

​With evidence of the climate crisis all around us and brands making strong commitments of their own, we have an important responsibility as manufacturers to keep pushing forward on this journey. ​

To ensure that we take ambitious steps to address the challenge of climate change, MAS plans to​ implement a portfolio of initiatives, including further increasing energy efficiency, utilizing sustainable and climate-neutral biomass for our boilers, and renewable energy inclusion.
